HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MCALLEN NOTICE OF PROPOSED UTILITLY ALLOWANCES
TO: ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE PUBLIC HOUSING & HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAMS
The PHA has completed its annual review of the program Utility Allowances and encourages residents to review the proposed utility allowances and support documentation. Participants may also provide written comments.
Pursuant to regulation 24 CFR 965.502, the Housing Authority of the City of McAllen hereby provides 60 days' notice to all participants of the proposed utility allowances.
DATES AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW: 12-12-2022 TO 01-12-2023
The PHA records and documents that provide the basis for the proposed utility allowances are available for review and comment during the dates listed above and at the following location:

Basis of determination: Annual Update
The PHA will gather all comments and review them at the close of the comment period. The PHA will respond to comments within (30) thirty days of the close of the comment period. Such written comments will be retained by the PHA and shall be available for inspection by residents.
PROPOSED EFFECTIVE DATE OF IMPLEMENTATION: 03-01-2023
*Requests for relief from surcharges for excess consumption, payment of supplier billings in excess of the allowance for resident purchased utilities, may be granted by the PHA on reasonable grounds, such as special needs for the elderly, ill or disabled residents, or special factors, on a case-by-case basis. Such relief may be initiated by the verbal or written making of such request as an accommodation.
